The Women in Ag’s Ultimate Playlist

canstockphoto0350088In honour of the Grammys last night, we thought we’d share our ultimate playlist inspired and created by women working in the agriculture industry. Forget helpless, heartbroken honeys pining away for their cowboys, this playlist is for women hauling feedbags, pulling calves, and working fields well into the night. It’s also for all the women who support those working to put food on our tables.

We think women in agriculture rock, and do does this playlist! What songs would you add to this list?

  1. Shania Twain – She’s Not Just A Pretty Face
  2. Destiny’s Child – Independent Woman
  3. No Doubt – Just a Girl
  4. Miranda Lambert – Fastest Girl in Town
  5. Martina McBride – This One’s For the Girl
  6. Sister C – Faint of Heart
  7. Mary Chapin Carpenter – Why walk when you can fly

  1. I could have SO much fun with this! I LOVE making play lists for every occasion! I would add:
Run The World (Girls) by Beyonce
Maggie’s Farm by Bob Dylan (I’m pretty sure it’s about the folk scene but it actually references a female farmer so that’s fun).
That Summer by Garth Brooks also references a hard working farm woman who has an “eye” for a younger farm hand 😉
Fancy by Iggy Azalea because farm girls can be fancy too.
Wild Child by Kenny Chesney because he said he wrote it to get a song on the radio about a different kind of woman not just the half naked chicks you see in most music videos these days.
All About that Bass by Meghan Trainor because beautiful women come in all shapes and sizes!
The Climb by Miley Cyrus because it’s a really inspiring song.
These Boots are Made for Walkin’ by Nancy Sinatra.
I’m a Survivor by Reba because she is the Queen of country and it talks about being a strong woman.
Cowgirls Don’t Cry for the horse girls out there.
Not Ready to Make Nice by The Dixie Chicks because it’s about standing up for what you believe no matter what.

I could go on and on but I’ll stop here 🙂
